Acrylic on Canvas (varnished with W&N UV acrylic varnish)
image: 6X6ins - unframed ready to hang
This small abstract was inspired by my memories of living in Reydon, Suffolk. Reydon village is separated from the town of Southwold by a small stretch of water called Buss Creek and is within easy walking distance. The guns are situated on Gun Hill looking eastwards out to sea. Supposedly the guns were gifted to the town by the Duke of Cumberland after the Battle of Culloden. One of these cannons was fired out to sea as part of the millennium celebrations - it was quite moving to see the gun fired after a long silence.
This painting was also part of the Fun A Day Dundee 2017 event and exhibited February 2017.
